CLIFTON MARINE CLUB

Welcome to Clifton Marine Club, nestled in the seaside community of Te Awanga. We are a fishing club that is passionate about fishing and enjoying the open sea. Formed in 1960, 27 boats were registered at 1pound each. Situated near the eastern tip of Hawkes Bay, Te Awanga is approximately 15 minutes drive from Hastings and Napier. The Hawkes Bay region is renowned for its food, wine, art deco, climate and natural environment.  Come and join us!

Cape Kidnappers, and the Cape Kidnappers Golf Course are our nearest and most famous neighbours. Cape Kidnappers is known as “Te Matau A Maui” and Maori legend depicts the peninsula as the fish hook of Maui, who pulled the North Island from the sea. In 1769 it was named by Captain James Cook when local Maori attempted to kidnap one of his crew, a young Tahitian boy. The area is also renowned for what is said to be the world’s largest, most accessible mainland gannet colony.

We have members who can advise on converting your trailer to a floating trailer - so you too can park in the ocean with a million dollar view.
